National Conference on Emerging Issues in Green Marketing on 12-13 March, 2011.
NCEIGM-2011
The earth's future is in our hand. Six and a half
billion people on this planet indulge in various
activities for survival and in eking out a
comfortable living. These activities are adding to the
global environmental challenge in the form of green
house gases released into the atmosphere making
environment unhealthy, unsafe and unsustainable for
them and for posterity.
So there is an urgent need for
maintaining proper balance between achieving high
standard of living and having clean environment. One of
the ways is to adopt green marketing culture. Green
Marketing is an idea where goods or services are
produced, marketed and consumed in a way that there is
minimum damage to environment.
The obvious
assumption of Green Marketing is that potential
customer will view a product or service's “Greenness” as
a benefit and base the buying decisions accordingly.
Green marketing involves both producer and consumer
to produce and consume eco-friendly products so as to
survive in a resource efficient environment friendly
society which will be a low carbon and green economy.
The conference will discuss various issues pertaining to
the product modification, product process, advertising
and packaging to make products environmentally safe
which will lead to sustainable development. The
conference would dwell upon various issues related to
green marketing and role of different stake holders.
It is
imperative to focus on preparing urgent and continuous
action plan by building international consensus. The
conference would discuss viable plans for spreading ecoconsciousness
among people so that everyone of us
adopts sustainable life style to protect environment on
mother earth.
